TRAINING PROGRAMME

"HIN & WEG"

A training programme comprising three parts for the various phases in an international assignment abroad for four to a maximum of 12 participants – in German and English.

In the process, we work with a specially developed identification model regarding the different cycles of an international assignment, in order to identify and constructively make use of typical crises and emotional patterns.

The unique part: At any point, the training can be additionally accompanied by further individual coaching. In this way, the knowledge gained in the training can be combined with your own behaviour and doctrines and the measures that are developed can be anchored in everyday life. BEFORE THE INTERNATIONAL ASSIGNMENT

„TIME TO SAY GOODBYE“

The first part of the ‘Hin & Weg’ training programme provides preparation for the professional stay abroad and is aimed at expatriates and their partners, people in the diplomatic service and anyone planning a professional stay abroad. What is special about it is the workshop-like character of the training: through mutual exchange with the other participants and guided self-reflection, your own requirements are made clear and individual solutions are developed.

  • Preparation for the challenges of the period abroad
  • Learning to consciously make use of your own strengths and past experiences
  • Reflection on your own behavioural pattern in change processes
  • Recognition of roles and possible role alterations
  • Awareness of the potential worst-case scenario

DURING THE POSTING ABROAD

„SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT“

The second part of the ‘Hin & Weg’ training programme is aimed at expatriates who are currently on their international assignment, and their partners. The participants are made aware of their personal situation within the posting abroad, compare it with their expectations and focus on the essential points: how am I getting on here? What is going well? What could be better? What am I proud of? What are my biggest challenges?

  • Understanding typical change phases during a international assignment abroad
  • Comparison of roles and your expectations
  • Learning to consciously make use of your strengths and past experiences
  • Reflection on your own behavioural pattern in change processes
  • Reframing a culture shock
  • Creatively constructive exchange with other participants as inspiration for individual solutions
  • Preparation for the challenges of returning to your homeland
  • Development of a personal action plan

AFTER THE POSTING

„BACK FOR GOOD?“

Often we do not anticipate the great challenge of a return to our supposed homeland. Far too often, an ‘own-culture shock’ and the related obstacles to getting back into the new, old life are underestimated. That is why the third part of the ‘Hin & Weg’ training programme is intensely focused on new opportunities and the resources you have gained through your experience abroad. The training session is aimed at people who are soon to return from abroad or have already done so.

  • Reflection on your own behavioural pattern in change processes
  • Differentiation between new and old roles
  • Learning to consciously make use of your own strengths and past experiences
